How do I clean my pBuzz?

We would advise to regularly give your pBuzz a good, thorough clean to make sure it stays in top condition!

1. Take your pBuzz apart. Start by removing the rubber O-ring; the inner slide should then easily be removable through the bell. Pull the bottom slide from the tube which will reveal the paper insert. Place all these parts carefully on a flat surface.

You will need: a plastic storage container, microfibre cleaning cloths, an old towel and instrument cleaning equipment/solution.

2. Get some warm soapy water. Fill up your storage container with some warm soapy water. You can use either instrument cleaning solution or standard washing-up liquid, whichever is easiest and most convenient.

3. Clean your pBuzz mouthpiece. Use a mouthpiece brush to clean the inside of your pBuzz mouthpiece. (Dip your brush and mouthpiece into the water first before cleaning). This part of the instrument gets the most contact with your mouth, so keeping it clean is very important!

4. Soak the pBuzz parts in water. Submerge the pBuzz parts into your container filled with warm soapy water (not the paper insert though!). Then using the valve cleaning brush, clean the inside of each tube. Leave to soak for 1 hour.

5. Empty the old water. Dispose of the dirty water and re-fill your container. This should be just warm water - no cleaning solution required!

6. Re-submerge the parts. Pop the pBuzz parts back into the container with your new water and leave for around 30 minutes. This will help to get rid of any excess cleaning solution which may still be on the instrument.

7. Remove from the water. After your 30 minutes is up, take the pBuzz parts out of the water. You might want to give them a little shake to get rid of any water. Place them on an old towel to help absorb the moisture.

8. Dry-time! Using your microfibre cloth, carefully dry down each part of your instrument.

9. Re-assemble your pBuzz! Once dry, you can now put your pBuzz back together! Start with fixing the paper insert back to the tube, and then attach the bottom slide. Pop the inner slide back up through the bell and then fix the rubber O-Ring back in place.

10. Time to play! Last but not least, insert your pBuzz mouthpiece and away you go! Back to making music and having fun!
